On-site Environmental Requirements for Fiber Laser Placement
Fiber lasers are high-precision industrial machines for metal cutting, welding and marking. A proper installation environment is essential to keep stable cutting performance, extend service life and lower breakdown risks. Poor surroundings may contaminate optics, damage electrical parts and reduce machining quality. Below are simplified site requirements for fiber laser placement.
1. Ambient Temperature of the laser cutting machine
Operating temperature: 10℃ ~ 35℃.
- High temperature: Causes overheating alarms, power drop and optical component damage.
- Low temperature: Risks chiller water freezing and cold-start failures.
Use air conditioning or ventilation for temperature control; preheat the machine in cold seasons.
2. Humidity of the laser working environment
Relative humidity: 40% – 70%, no condensation.
- Too humid: Lens fogging, circuit short-circuit, metal rust.
- Too dry: Static electricity that harms electronic control systems.
Add dehumidifiers for wet workshops or humidifiers for dry areas.
3. Air Cleanliness of the laser machine
Keep the workshop free from heavy metal dust, grinding debris, oil fume and paint mist.
Dust sticks to protective lenses, blocks laser beams and may burn optics.
- Keep cabinet doors closed during operation.
- Install dust extraction systems.
- Do NOT place lasers next to grinding, sandblasting or polishing stations.
4. Power Supply
Standard: 380V 3-phase power (spec varies by model), voltage fluctuation ≤ ±5%.
- Separate power circuit from heavy impact machines (punchers, welders) to avoid interference.
- Grounding resistance < 4Ω for static and leakage protection.
- Voltage stabilizer recommended if grid power is unstable.
5. laser machine Site & Space Conditions
- Floor: Flat, solid and load-bearing, flatness within 3mm/m.
- Reserved space: 0.8–1m on sides and rear; ≥1.5m front for operation & maintenance.
- Keep away from strong vibration sources and direct sunlight to preserve machining accuracy.
6. Ventilation & Safety of the laser cutting machine
No flammable materials nearby. Ensure machine air outlets are not blocked for heat dissipation.
Summary of the laser cutting machine
Meeting these environmental standards minimizes faults and maintenance cost while maintaining full laser performance. Customers should prepare the site before machine arrival for reliable long-term production.
